DESCRIPTION:Urban Forests and Field Design 6-12 for On Track Academy & Shaw Middle School\n(private event) \nAre you interested in learning about a framework that develops your students ability to think critically and problem-solve through hands-on locally relevant activities related to urban forests? \nJoin Pacific Education Institute in this customized workshop using FieldDesign: Engineering Design for Field-Based Applications 6-12 and Project Learning Tree’s Discover Your Urban Forestry activities. \nFieldDesign is a framework to engage students in engineering practices around real-world problems. Students research and analyze situations on the school grounds\, at home\, or in their communities to give engineering design a more meaningful context. In this virtual workshop\, educators dive in to the FieldDesign framework and\, with support\, collaboratively plan for implementation of an urban forestry project. \nThis workshop consists of synchronous and asynchronous sessions: \n\nTuesday\, November 2\, 2021\, 3:45 PM to 5:45 PM (approx. 2 hours)\nAsynchronous work (approx. 1 hour)\nThursday\, November 4\, 2021\, 3:45 PM to 5:45 PM (approx. 2 hours)\n\nParticipants who attend both sessions and complete all associated work will receive: \n\n5 Washington state approved STEM clock hours\n$75 participation stipend
