Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Forest Ecosystem Benefits – Carbon Sequestration

(registration available for educators in ESD 105 or ESD 171)

Join the Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the role of Washington’s forests in climate change resiliency. Participants will learn about the solutions-oriented learning storyline format, which includes: centering Indigenous perspectives, local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive practices tied to Since Time Immemorial, NGSS three-dimensional formative assessment, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.

This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes:

  • (2) two-hour synchronous virtual sessions
  • two-hours of asynchronous work

Participants who attend both sessions and complete all asynchronous work will receive:

  • A $200 participation stipend
  • 6 Washington State approved STEM clock hours
Please Note: This workshop is for classroom teachers actively teaching grades K-12 in the fall of 2021 in the ESD 105 and ESD 171 regions.
