DESCRIPTION:FieldSTEM FieldDesign: Engineering Design for Field-Based Applications for Grades 6-12\n(workshop FULL-waitlist available) \nAttention all formal middle school and high school educators! \nAre you interested in learning about a framework that develops your students ability to think critically and problem-solve through hands-on locally relevant activities? \nJoin Pacific Education Institute in this workshop designed for 6-12 educators using FieldDesign: Engineering Design for Field-Based Applications. FieldDesign is a framework to engage students in engineering practices around real-world problems. Students research and analyze situations on the school grounds\, at home\, or in their communities to give engineering design a more meaningful context. In this virtual workshop\, educators dive in to the FieldDesign framework* and\, with support\, plan for implementation in their own classrooms. \nSynchronous Learning Dates and Times: \n\n\nMonday\, November 16\, 2020\, 4 PM to 6:30 PM (2.5 hours) \n\n\nThursday\, November 19\, 2020\, 4 PM to 6 PM (2 hours) \n\n\nAsynchronous Learning: participants will be required to complete the equivalent of 1.5 hours of work outside of the online workshop.\n \nParticipants who attend all sessions and complete all required work will receive:\n\n\n6 Washington State approved STEM clock hours  \n\n\nA $125 participation stipend \n\n\nPlease note: you must be a formal middle school or high school educator to attend this workshop.\n \n*A FieldDesign guide is available to you as part of this workshop.
