DESCRIPTION:Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Wildfires in Eastern Washington\nJoin the Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the role of wildfires in Washington’s historic and current landscape\, focusing on the Eastern WA region. Participants will learn about the solutions-oriented learning storyline format\, which includes: local anchoring phenomena\, culturally responsive practices tied to Since Time Immemorial\, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures\, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities. \nThis workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: three online learning sessions\, self-paced learning opportunities and a format to give feedback on the storylines. \nDates\, times and specifics of the online workshop: \n\nDay 1: Monday\, April 20 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm\nDay 2: Wednesday\, April 22 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm\nDay 3: Friday\, April 24 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm\n\nThis workshop is for classroom teachers teaching grades K-12 in Washington public schools. Participants who attend all three online workshops and complete all associated work will receive: \n\nA $150 participation stipend\n12 STEM Washington State approved Clock Hours\n\nOur online workshops fill up fast!
