DESCRIPTION:Project Learning Tree: Outdoor STEM Learning in Your Schoolyard or Home for Grades K-5\n(workshop FULL-waitlist available) \nJoin FieldSTEM Coordinator Karen Lippy from Pacific Education Institute in an online workshop designed to help K-5 educators increase their knowledge\, skills and tools to create impactful science learning opportunities for students in their schoolyard or at home using the Project Learning Tree: PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide.* \nThe workshop will be a blended experience including an online Zoom element and self-paced learning: \n\n\nAsynchronous: prior to first day of workshop (approx. 1 hour) \n\n\nSynchronous: Monday\, November 30\, 2020\, 4 PM to 6 PM (2 hours) \n\n\nSynchronous: Wednesday\, December 2\, 2020\, 4 PM to 6 PM (2 hours) \n\n\nParticipants who complete all asynchronous work and participate in both synchronous sessions will receive 5 STEM clock hours. \nParticipants will: \n\n\nReceive hands-on experience with Project Learning Trees activities and lessons  \n\n\nIdentify activities that align with their grade-level learning standards  \n\n\nExplore strategies to successfully use outdoor spaces on the schoolyard or at home for locally-relevant learning \n\n\n*The Project Learning Tree: PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide is included in the cost of the workshop and will be mailed to you prior to the workshop. \nNote: this workshop is for formal educators of grades K-5. \nRegistration will close on November 18\, 2020 and no refunds will be issued after that date.
