SUMMARY:SOLS: Urban Forestry (PSESD region)
DESCRIPTION:Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Urban Forestry with PSESD*\nThursdays\, May 19 & June 2\, 2022\, 4 PM to 6 PM \nAttention K-12 Formal Educators in the Puget Sound ESD* region! \nJoin Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners for a deep dive into Urban Forestry\, focusing on the Puget Sound region. Participants will learn about the Urban Forestry Solutions Oriented Learning Storyline\, designed around six guiding principles: Indigenous perspectives\, local anchoring phenomena\, culturally responsive practices\, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures\, a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases\, and opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities. \nThis workshop includes two synchronous Zoom sessions and asynchronous learning in between: \n\nMay 19\, 2022: 4 – 6 pm on Zoom\nAsynchronous work: approximately two hours\nJune 2\, 2022: 4 – 6 pm on Zoom \n\nParticipants who attend both online workshops and complete the asynchronous work will receive:  \n\n6 Washington state approved STEM clock hours\nA $200 participation stipend\n\n*Please note: This opportunity is only for K-12 teachers in Puget Sound ESD public schools.
