SUMMARY:SOLS: Wetlands
DESCRIPTION:Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Wetlands\n(by invitation only) \nJoin Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into wetlands\, focusing on the South Sound region. Participants will learn about the Solutions Oriented Learning Storyline format\, which includes: centering tribal perspectives\, local anchoring phenomena\, culturally responsive practices\, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures\, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities. \nThis hybrid workshop is part of a series of activities that includes two online Zoom sessions\, one in-person meeting and two asynchronous assignments. With one of these sessions meeting in-person outside at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge\, we will be following strict Covid-19 protocol including social distancing\, all participants wearing a mask and the use of sanitizer. \nDates\, times\, and specifics of the hybrid workshop: \n\nMay 5\, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Zoom\nMay 8\, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge\nMay 13\, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Zoom\n\nParticipants who attend all three sessions and complete the asynchronous assignments will receive: \n\nAn $80 participation stipend\n8 Washington State approved STEM Clock Hours\n\nPlease note: this workshop is for classroom teachers teaching grades K-12 in Washington public schools.
