DESCRIPTION:Project WILD for Central Washington K-5 Educators\nAttention Central Washington K-5 Educators! \n(Please register only if you can attend both dates)\nElk\, coyote\, and climate change – oh my! Get WILD about learning! Join us in discovering how to teach K-5 students about wildlife and conservation using hands-on\, interdisciplinary lessons from Project WILD with special guests from the I-90 Wildlife Crossing project. Lesson plans have been aligned with national and state learning standards. Throughout the workshop\, educators will have a chance to model lessons and to learn about local education resources. Upon workshop completion\, all educators will receive the Project WILD guide. \nThis workshop is in two parts:  \n\nWednesday\, April 13\, 4 PM to 6 PM: an online content delivery session\nSaturday\, April 16\, 9 AM to 1 PM: an in-person* field experience and tour of the I-90 Wildlife Crossing\n\nParticipants who attend both sessions will receive: \n\n6 Washington state approved STEM clock hours\nProject WILD guide\n\n*The in-person workshop will take place on Washington State lands. The trails are unimproved\, non-ADA trails that include uneven ground\, mud\, steep terrain\, and weather-related hazards. We will meet at a location to be determined by our guest speaker to go to the I-90 Wildlife crossing. DESCRIPTION:Journaling the Fire Environment\n(private event for Methow Valley School District only) \nAttention Organizational & Formal Educators for children K-12 in and near the Methow Valley! \nJoin Fire-Adapted Methow Valley and their partners for a two-session professional learning opportunity\, Journaling the Fire Environment. The Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (MCFEG) and Pacific Education Institute (PEI) are very excited to offer a Deep Dive into Salmon Education for secondary (8th-12th grade) science and CTE teachers in the Yakima region.  \nThis FREE 2.5 day adventure will include guest speakers\, salmon tank tutorials\, tours\, and resources you can use in your classroom. SUMMARY:Connecting Teachers and Forests: A Project Learning Tree (PLT) and Green Diamond Forestry Tour
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Dates/Time: \nAugust 20\, 2018 / 8:30a.m.—12:30p.m. \nAugust 21\, 2018 / 9:00a.m.—3:00p.m. \n\nPEI supports teachers to provide integrated\, career-connected\, locally-relevant\, field-based education – FieldSTEM.  In this multiple day\, no-cost\, workshop teachers will receive valuable forest and forestry-related resources and participate in a tour provided by Green Diamond Resources\, highlighting the management of working forests. \nTeachers will receive: \n\nProject Learning Tree’s Pre-K-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide \n10 Washington State Approved STEM Clock Hours—at no cost!\nPLT’s Energy in Ecosystems e-unit (grades 3-5) – for the first 12 teachers registered that teach that grade band\nA $75 participation stipend (details provided at the workshop)\n\nIntended Audience: Formal Educators K-8\n \n  \n  \n \n
