DESCRIPTION:Learn to engage grade 2-16 students in fascinating crayfish studies in this hands-on STEAM workshop. Rick Reynolds\, veteran educator and author of Investigating Crayfish + Freshwater Ecosystems\, will team up with other partners from The River Mile Network to step you through student activities including scientific investigations in your local watershed. Gain confidence to participate with The River Mile’s Crayfish Study to support important research by scientists and wildlife managers.  \nLearn how different tools can be used to monitor native and invasive crayfish\, assess water quality\, and collect\, analyze\, and share data and student observations to benefit people and wildlife. Meet NGSS and CCSS while integrating the arts and all content areas.  \nYou can earn PD contact hours or college credit through participation in this enjoyable Monday experience which will include time to network. SUMMARY:Locally Relevant 3-D Climate Science Storylines
DESCRIPTION:Become an integral part of this groundbreaking curriculum in Washington State!  \n#ClimeTime #TeachClimateWA \nPacific Education Institute (PEI) is recruiting 4th grade\, 5th grade\, and high school teachers to pilot our erosion (4th)\, food waste (5th)\, and land use (HS) storyline that addresses climate change.  Each unit incorporates the following elements: NGSS aligned 3-Dimensional instruction\, Indigenous ways of knowing\, locally relevant activities\, and solution orientated learning based on research from Project Drawdown.  \nThis workshop is intended for Washington State classroom teachers in 4th grade\, 5th grade\, and high school. Grade level teams are encouraged.  \nA $300 implementation stipend is available for those who meet these requirements:  \n\nPilot the curriculum in their classrooms before May 8\, 2019\nAdminister pre and post assessment \nProvide student work to PEI \n\nInterested?
