DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Project Learning Tree for Non-Formal Educators\nSeptember 8\, 2022  |  9 AM to 11 AM \nOnline via Zoom \nCost: $20 (includes digital copy of PLT’s Explore Your Environment) \n(registration will open to the public at a later date) \nProject Learning Tree (PLT) uses trees and forests as windows on the world to increase students’ understanding of the environment and actions they can take to conserve it. Pacific Education Institute (PEI) wants to support nonformal educators\, resources professionals and small woodland owners in their education and outreach efforts with a PLT training\, catered to their unique needs! \nThis 2-hour online training will cover the basic tenants of PLT\, an outline of the materials and extensions\, and strategies for connecting PLT materials with students. \nThere is a workshop fee of $20. Participants will receive a digital copy of PLT’s K-8 “Explore Your Environment” guide (code to be emailed prior to the workshop). Participants have the option to purchase a physical copy of the guide for an additional $30 in the form below. Please note: the physical copy may not arrive until after the workshop date.

DESCRIPTION:2023 Youth Engaged in Sustainable Systems (YESS)\n District Interest Session 1 \nSeptember 20\, 2022\, 10 AM to 11 AM \nCost: Free \nJoin PEI’s Green Jobs Coordinator\, Heather Spalding\, to learn more about the Youth Engaged in Sustainable Systems (YESS) Program.  \nThe YESS Program model is grounded in collaboration between PEI\, school districts\, skill centers\, and local natural resource organizations as part of the Career Connect Washington system. YESS high school participants earn summer school credit while building their job skills and exploring careers in natural resources. Over their five to six weeks in the program\, students’ classroom time is paired with hands-on service activities at community partner sites.
