August 28, 2017 - August 29, 2017

In this two-day workshop series, participants will engage in deepening their understanding of the 3 Dimensions of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and examine how the NGSS support outdoor learning experiences. Participants will collaborate to design a mini-unit using the Project-Based Learning Model from Pacific Education Institute. Participants will receive multiple tools and resources and walk away with a draft unit to teach in the 17-18 school year.

Session Goals:

  • Deepen understanding of the 3 Dimensions of NGSS and how outdoor learning is foundational in supporting learning of the 3 Dimensions
  • Have collaborative and mentored time for planning to use PEI’s Project-Based Learning Model for developing a Mini-Unit of 3D instruction for students
