FieldSTEM: Connecting Students to Forestry Careers

Attention all formal Washington state secondary educators!

Join Pacific Education Institute’s FieldSTEM Coordinator, Mike Nepean, and Executive Director, Kathryn Kurtz, for a 2-hour online workshop reviewing the CTE framework for connecting secondary students to forest management career pathways. This online workshop is geared toward CTE and Science educators of grades 9 through 12 and middle school instructors offering forestry-related classes.

The workshop will be an overview and update session for CTE Forest Management and related frameworks created in partnership with local Washington educators and professionals in the forest management industry. This newly approved course is an equivalency for HS science and available for district adoption. 

Forest management professionals will share information on their roles and career pathways and engage in a discussion with educators about student worksite visits and SAE models.

Participants who attend will receive:

• A $75 participation stipend
• 2 Washington State approved STEM clock hours
