FieldSTEM: Designing High Impact Field Experiences
Join Pacific Education Institute FieldSTEM Coordinators in an online workshop to help you design a high quality, impactful field experience for your students. Participants will use PEI’s Designing High Impact Field Experiences guide to develop learning targets, create bookend activities, design field journals, plan logistics and evaluate the experience.
The workshop will be a blended experience including online Zoom and self-paced learning:
- Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 4 PM- 6 PM (2 hours synchronous): Overview of high impact field experience components
- Asynchronous (approximately 2 hours): Create a field journal, virtual tour, or bookend lesson to share on October 20 (detailed instructions will be provided on October 6)
- Wednesday, October 20, 2021, 4 PM- 6 PM (2 hours synchronous): exploration of local partnerships and collaborative planning (led by your PEI Regional FieldSTEM Coordinator)
Participants who attend both in-person sessions and complete all associated work will receive 6 Washington State Approved STEM clock hours.
There will be an opportunity for participants to receive a $100 implementation stipend upon the completion of additional work. Details will be provided at the workshop.
