The renewable and nonrenewable energy tasks provide basic background knowledge about what renewable energy is, how it works, and the advantages and disadvanteges for the environment. Students practice the research skills of locating information, selecting the best information, and having enough information to persuade or explain. Each task includes a suggested field experience and career connections. The first task, Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy, culminates in a student-created speech.
