Drain Rangers! Engineering Solutions: Investigating Polluted Stormwater Runoff
May 31, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
FreeJoin Pat Otto for a training on the Drain Rangers! Curriculum: Engineering Solutions. This curriculum focuses on engineering design from the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) having students go from defining the problems to designing stormwater runoff solutions in their community. The curriculum integrates English Language Arts as well for students to learn about stormwater runoff issues and solutions in the Puget Sound Region.
Participants will:
- Participate in the Engineering Design process (NGSS) to explore solutions to stormwater runoff problems in your community
- Engage in an ELA performance task for background knowledge about stormwater pollution and how we can help
- Use models for understanding a watershed & how water moves through the system
- Earn 6 Washington State Approved STEM clock hours — at no cost
Open to Educators 6-12 Grade
Please dress for the weather and bring a lunch
Printed copies of curriculum will be available — at no cost
