Get Wild with WDFW! The State of Salmon

Saturday 12/9/23 * 9 AM  to 12 PM

Attention Washington State Formal Educators, Grades 3-5

The journey of thousands of miles starts with a single flick of the tail! No matter where you live in Washington, we all have a connection to these amazing salmonids.

Join PEI and WDFW on the swim of a lifetime as we explore the State of Salmon curriculum from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This phenomena-based exploration of salmonid species is a *FREE* NGSS-designed unit for 3rd grade, and in the workshop we will model how to include local, place-based phenomena. Patterns and passage and engineering, oh my!

Participants who complete the workshop and all associated work will receive:
3 Washington State Approved STEM clock hours

Note: While the NGSS unit is designed for 3rd grade, the Science and Engineering Practices and Crosscutting Concepts will work at the 3rd-5th grade band.
