Ocean Science: Plankton at Home

This year’s Ocean Science Workshop is all about plankton. Plankton Close to Home will take educators through the process of engaging in authentic aquatic field investigations. Participants will gather contextual data, create and follow plankton collection protocols, practice good data collection, and analyze their findings.

Over the course of four days, participants will:

• Gather, identify and compare plankton from several fresh and salt water sites.
• Become comfortable collecting and identifying plankton from any local water source
