Project Learning Tree: Green Jobs and Forestry

(by invitation only)

Attention Formal Educators of Grades 6-12!*

What does a forester do? In this all-day** in-person workshop, participants will explore Project Learning Tree resources for secondary teachers, Green Jobs and Focus on Forests and PEI’s CTE Framework for Forest Management. Participants will also engage in a special field experience. Yakama Nation Tribal Forestry staff will provide a tour and share information on their forest management. The Yakama Nation was the 2019 recipient of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative’s President’s Award for “their ongoing leadership in advancing sustainable forest management.”

Participants who attend will receive:

  • $50 Participation Stipend
  • 7 Washington State Approved STEM clock hours
*You must be an educator of grades 6 through 12 within the Yakama Nation region.
**Lunch will be provided.
 
Please Note: All COVID-19 precautions will be taken to protect the health of all participating educators, facilitators and Yakama Nation staff. All participants, facilitators and staff must wear a mask during the indoor portion of the workshop.
