Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Food Waste

Become an integral part of this groundbreaking curriculum in Washington State!

#climetime #waclimetime #teachclimate

Pacific Education Institute (PEI) is recruiting 5th grade and High School teachers to implement our food waste storylines that address climate change. Each storyline incorporates the following elements: NGSS aligned 3-Dimensional instruction, Indigenous ways of knowing, locally relevant activities, and solutions oriented learning based on research from Project Drawdown.

This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: a two-day workshop (support available for teachers traveling long distances), implementation of the storyline, collection and submission of student work and a follow-up video conference to check-in on progress and provide feedback November 12, 2019.

This workshop is for 5th grade and High School classroom teachers – grade level teams are encouraged.

  • Sub reimbursement is provided up to $150 per day.
  • A $150 implementation stipend is available for those that implement the storyline, attend the video conference follow-up, and collect/submit student assessment data.
  • 12 STEM Washington State approved clock hours are available to teachers attending both days.
