This unit reviews the application design process and shows students how professionals in the real world use the design process to solve the local problem of health and sustainability of our city forests. Students are introduced to the importance of urban forests and green spaces particularly in terms of watersheds (stormwater runoff). Students will participate in various steps of the design process while evaluating and restoring (optional) an urban forest.
