Aberdeen School Gardens

Join Pacific Education Institute and local partners in this nine-hour online workshop to learn how to incorporate your new school garden into your curriculum.
The online workshop consists of (3) 3-hour Zoom sessions:
- Session 1: Monday, July 12, 9 AM to 12 PM – we will cover the mechanics of running a classroom garden, showcasing examples of existing programs. Facilitators will demonstrate planning a program from scratch and participants will have time to look at the teaching standards they want to address and to think about what kind of garden project they want to do at each grade level.
- Session 2: Monday, July 19, 2021, 9 AM to 12 PM – we will focus on collecting resources and writing plans in grade level teams.
- Session 3: Monday, August 2, 2021 9 AM to 12 PM – this will be our opportunity to review each other’s plans and to share them with district staff.
Attendance at all three sessions is necessary in order to receive the 9 Washington State Approved STEM clock hours.
