A two‐day Institute designed to assist teachers in navigating the Next Generation Science Standards ﴾NGSS﴿ and ELA Common Core Standards by exploring NGSS Science and Engineering Practices and ELA performance assessments using the outdoors as the classroom.

Participants will:

• Build their NGSS and ELA Common Core knowledge

• Gain experience integrating NGSS with ELA standards

• Participate in outdoor field investigations ‐ using NGSS 3‐dimensional instruction

• Engage in performance tasks that introduces the science of natural resources, agriculture, and the environment

• Receive resources to customize performance tasks and field investigations for planning a FieldSTEM unit

• Learn strategies for integrating career awareness
