Solutions Oriented Learning Storylines: Wildfires in Eastern Washington

Join the Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the role of wildfires in Washington’s historic and current landscape, focusing on the Eastern WA region. Participants will learn about the solutions-oriented learning storyline format, which includes: local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive practices tied to Since Time Immemorial, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.

This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: three online learning sessions, self-paced learning opportunities and a format to give feedback on the storylines.

Dates, times and specifics of the online workshop:

• Day 1: Monday, April 20 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
• Day 2: Wednesday, April 22 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
• Day 3: Friday, April 24 – 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm

This workshop is for classroom teachers teaching grades K-12 in Washington public schools. Participants who attend all three online workshops and complete all associated work will receive:

• A $150 participation stipend
• 12 STEM Washington State approved Clock Hours
