Attention Spanish-speaking K-12 Educators in ESD 105 & ESD 171* Regions!
What was the last thing you ate? Did you eat it all? And where did the waste go?
Join Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into food waste mitigation in Washington state. Participants will learn about the Solutions Oriented Learning Storyline format, which includes: centering the Indigenous perspective, local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive practices, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.
This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes two online Zoom sessions, three self-paced learning opportunities on Canvas, and providing feedback on the storyline as you explore it.
- Synchronous: February 9, 2022, 4 PM to 6 PM
- Asynchronous: approximately 2 hours of work
- Synchronous: February 16, 2022, 4 PM to 6 PM
Participants who attend both sessions and complete all work will receive:
- 6 Washington State approved STEM clock hours
- A $200 Participation Stipend
- The opportunity to earn an additional $100 Implementation Stipend
