Join the Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the role of Washington’s forests in climate change resiliency. Participants will learn about the solutions-oriented learning storyline format, which includes: local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive practices tied to Since Time Immemorial, NGSS three-dimensional formative assessment, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.
This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: a 2-day workshop (support available for teachers traveling long distances), implementation of the storyline this fall, collection and scoring submission of student work and a follow-up video conference to check-in on progress and provide feedback October 28, 2019.
This workshop is for classroom teachers – actively teaching grades 5-12 in the fall of 2019,
- A participation stipend of $200 is available for participants that attend the entire 2-day workshop and complete the workshop evaluation.
- A $250 implementation stipend is available for those that implement the storyline, attend the video conference follow-up, and collect/submit student assessment data. Assessment data is due December 1, 2019.
- 12 STEM Washington State approved Clock Hours are available for teachers attending the 2-day workshop.
